梁家泰
梁家泰從事專業攝影師工作超過二十五年。他生在香港，於美國大學修讀工程後到英國工作；七十年代初旅居巴黎期間，他發現了攝影機的藝術潛能。
一九七六年，梁家泰回港並建立自己的攝影室。他以攝影融入旅程，遊歷甚廣，幾乎走遍中國各地。其作品分別於香港、歐洲、美國及東南亞等地展覽，不少也刊登於國際知名雜誌，如《國家地理雜誌》、《GEO》、《紐約時報》、《星期日電訊報》及《Pari
Match》等。他曾榮獲多個本地及國際獎項，包括由香港藝術家聯盟頒發的香港藝術家年獎，以及一九九四年度紐約Harry
Chapin
傳播媒體獎最佳新聞攝影。至今，已出版十一本個人攝影集及十本集體創作。
梁家泰作品沒有構圖設計中的做作，崇尚融合真實情感，處處洋溢明朗清澈的氛圍；當中的敏感觸角及觀察力在本書人物肖像中表露無遺。這些影像不但啟發我們超越視野，更能彰顯香港人的現實生活與努力不懈的精神。
LEONG KA TAI
Leong Ka Tai has been a professional photographer for over 25 years. Born in
Hong Kong, he studied engineering at university in the USA and later worked
in England. It was during a sojourn in Paris in the early 1970s that he
discovered the artistic capabilities of the camera.
Returning to Hong Kong in 1976, he set up his studio and subsequently
combined photography with extensive travel, especially in China. Since then
his photographs have been exhibited in Hong Kong, Europe, the USA and
south-east Asia. They have been published in 21 books and numerous
magazines, notably National Geographic, GEO, Life, the New York Times, the
Sunday Telegraph and Paris Match. He has won local and international awards
including 'Artist of the Year' from the Hong Kong Artists Guild and First
Prize for Best Photojournalism in the 1994 Harry Chapin Media Awards (World
Hunger Year), New York.
Eschewing stylistic contrivances, Leong Ka Tai's photographs blend a sense
of authentic atmosphere with a pure lucidity. These qualities, the result of
his subtly selective eye, are evident in the portraits of heroes in this
book. Taking us beyond the range of our physical vision, the images are
remarkable for the insight they give into the realities of life and human
endeavour in his native city.
